SAA selects T3CAS for new Airbus A320 aircraft Monday, February 23, 2009
Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA), the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has selected a significant number of Thales equipment, including the T3CAS, for installation on its recently ordered Airbus A320 jets, from Thales and ACSS, an L-3 Communications and Thales joint venture company.
The order includes 42 firm and eight optional aircraft. T3CAS is an integrated surveillance platform from ACSS that combines a traffic alert and collision avoidance system, terrain awareness warning system and Mode S Transponder.
The T3CAS for the airline will also include ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) capabilities, such as Air Traffic Situational Awareness with In-Trail Procedures.
